MY WRITING   BLOG

Writing is my life's blood. It is also the call of God on my life. I don't remember a time when I did not writ.e.  At the age of eleven an aunt gave me a copy of Emily of New Moon by Lucy Maud Montgomery and I secretly began calling myself a writer. As publication became a reality, the secret got out.

I have written for several Christian magazines in the U.S. and Canada, as well as home-town newspapers. My credits include Moody Magazine, Virtue Magazine, Brio and Just Between Us.

My short stories and articles have won prizes in Canada and the United States and my poetry has  been broadcast on CBC radio.

I love teaching writing and have done courses for the Alberta Adult Education Department, SWIG (Saskatchewan), Inscribe Christian Writers Fellowship and Write Canada.

While serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea, I wrote for the Non-print Media Department of the Summer Institute of Linguistics, producing radio scripts and the script for a video detailing S.I.L.’s forty years in P.N.G.

I currently write a weekly Faith Column, The Spur, which is published in the Ponoka News, Living Light News, and on the web. My devotional book, The Spur of the Moment received the Award of Merit at God Uses Ink in Guelph Ontario in 2003. A second book, Focused Reflections has also garnered praise.

My new novel, One Smooth Stone, was the winner of the Best New Canadian Christian Author Award sponsored by Castle Quay/Augsburg Fortress Press, in 2006. It was published in September, 2007
